TL;DR: Your audio never leaves your device. This MP3 Converter runs 100% in your browser with ffmpeg.wasm. We don’t upload, store, or track audio content — and we don’t run ads or third-party trackers. The only data we hold is a local theme preference and anonymous Google Analytics measurement, which you can ask us to delete at any time.

1. No audio uploads

All conversions — convert audio to MP3, MP3 to WAV, MP3 to AAC/M4A/FLAC and 12 more — happen client-side. Files are read via the File API, processed in WebAssembly memory, and written back as a download. No audio bytes are sent to our servers, CDNs, or third parties.

2. What we do collect

Theme preference (`localStorage.theme` = `dark`/`light`) to remember dark mode — stored locally only.
Google Analytics (GA4) — page views, sessions, referrer, country, device/browser type, and converter usage counts. It never sees your audio content or file names, and GA4 does not log or store your full IP address.
Cookies — Google Analytics may set first-party cookies (such as `_ga`) to tell repeat visits apart. These are used only for measurement, not advertising.
No account, no email required.

3. What we don’t collect

Audio file names, durations, or content — stays in memory and is auto-deleted.
Converted output — created as `blob:` URLs and revoked after download or page close.
ffmpeg.wasm is loaded from a public CDN (unpkg/jsDelivr) — only the engine code is fetched, not your audio.

4. Temporary files & auto-cleanup

Temporary files exist only in memory and the virtual ffmpeg FS. They are deleted via `unlink` after each conversion and all `blob:` URLs are revoked on Reset, Cancel, or `pagehide`/`beforeunload`. Close the tab and everything is gone.

5. Children’s privacy

This service is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because the converter runs entirely in your browser and requires no account, no personal data is collected from any visitor — including children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

6. Advertising

We do not currently run ads or work with any third-party ad networks, so no advertising cookies or ad-related tracking exist on this site. If we ever add ads, this section will be updated to name the ad network and describe what data it collects — before that network goes live.

7. Data handling & your rights (EU/EEA — GDPR)

For visitors in the EU/EEA, here is how we handle data, to GDPR standard:

Legal basis. The theme preference is processed under legitimate interest (it stays on your device and never leaves it). Google Analytics runs under legitimate interest in keeping the free service fast and useful — you may object at any time.
Data minimisation. We collect only what is listed in §2 — a local theme setting and aggregate analytics. No name, email, account, or payment data exists, and we never collect special-category data.
Retention. The theme preference stays in your browser until you clear it. Google Analytics user-level data is auto-deleted after its retention period (maximum 14 months); aggregate reports may persist longer.
Your rights. You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing. Since the theme preference lives in your browser, clearing site data or using Reset removes it instantly; analytics records can be deleted on request.

To exercise any right, contact us and we’ll respond promptly. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s official browser opt-out add-on.

8. UK residents

If you are in the United Kingdom, the UK GDPR applies and you have the same rights and protections described in §7, including access, deletion, and objection. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

9. California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected (it’s all listed in §2), the right to delete it, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising — and because we keep no accounts or identifiable records, we most likely hold nothing about you at all.
